After just releasing a social bookmarking extension that included a generic user control and BlogEngine.net version, I stumbled across a new widget provided by AddThis.com. I had noticed the widget on sites like dezinerfolio and a post on a game being delayed from ign.com, but never really looked into it. Well, turns out the beat me to the punch and offer a nice little service that allows you to create an account and grab a widget for RSS feeds and/or social bookmarks for individual posts. They offer several different button styles, and even a javascript dropdown-style beta widget which you see on each of my blog posts at DannyDouglass.com. The service also offers visual displays to track the activity from your bookmarking links and/or feeds, depending on how you use the service. Below are a few screenshots of the bookmarking graphical displays that display my site's activity (click for full size image). Don't laugh - I just put these up yesterday! =]
JavaScript Dropdown Beta Version
You will not on my website that each post contains a bookmarking widget that displays a dropdown of popular bookmarking links. This is the beta version of the widget. You can find more information on AddThis.com's post on this beta widget. Personally this is my favorite, but to each their own, right? All this offered at a low cost of nothing. Not bad.
