I know I said in my last toolbox links post I was not going to post this week's links until Wednesday, but since I have already put together the list I might as well share them. This week I'll be focusing on Windows Tools that help make our lives as developers easier. I personally use (or have used) all of these tools and I stand by my recommendations!
- UltraMon - A Must Have! UltraMon is a utility for multi-monitor systems, designed to increase productivity and unlock the full potential of multiple monitors
- Notepad++ - Free source code editor and Notepad replacement, which supports several programming languages, running under the MS Windows environment
- Pixie - An easy-to-use, fast color picker that includes a mouse tracker. Run it, simply point to a color and it will tell you the hex, RGB, HTML, CMYK and HSV values of that color
- WinMerge - My Favorite Merge Tool - WinMerge is an Open Source visual text file differentiation and merging tool for Win32 platforms
- FolderShare - A Windows Live Service used to synchronize documents, IE Favorites, OneNote notebooks, and scripts across several machines over the Internet or a LAN
- FoxIt PDF Reader - Free, Smoking-fast PDF Reader loaded with all sorts of handy features
- Launchy - Launchy is a free windows utility designed to help you forget about your start menu, the icons on your desktop, and even your file manager
- FileZilla - Free FTP Solution for both clients and servers
- WinSnap - A small (and free) enhancement utility for taking and editing screenshots
- Paint.NET - Free image and photo editing software for computers that run Windows
- CubeDesktop - CubeDesktop is a new 3D virtual desktop environment for Windows
- DeskSpace - Another 3D virtual desktop environment for Windows
Do you have any utilities to add to the list??
